Ruger is a lot of dog in a small body! He is a very high drive dog with an incredible work ethic, he loves any and all kinds of work and does not quit when he's set to a task. When at home, his off-switch kicks into gear and he becomes a couch potato- but don't let his lazy house mode fool you, he'll springboard off the couch at the drop of a dime if he hears someone say "bird." Always ready to work, always ready to succeed.

Ruger hunts with us regularly and is extremely birdy, with a natural grace and the stamina to keep at it all day long. He currently competes in barn hunting, dock diving, FCAT, disc, and is training in scent detection, agility, and rally! He is extremely fun to work with, very handler oriented and forgiving, he picks up new things quickly and is always willing to try anything asked of him.

At just 60 pounds and riddled with muscle, which is genetic and has been passed down to many of his offspring, Ruger is fully health tested, titled and proven, having sired just under 10 litters. He consistently produces successful, driven, well rounded and healthy puppies. His puppies reside in all types of homes, sport, hunting, and even service ( a male puppy named Artoo is a stud prospect for Hope Service Dogs located in Florida, and a female named Ruby is being trained as a medical alert dog) Their owners describe them as eager to work and full of energy and drive- many have inherited Ruger's athletic and muscular build!

Watch Ruger move and work in the videos posted on his profile page!

Ruger consistently produces sweet natured, high drive, biddable puppies who love to work and excel at any task they are presented with.

Ruger has produced puppies residing in sport, hunting, family, and service homes!

* It should be noted that Ruger does have a significant white patch on his chest that is viewed as undesireable in the conformation ring( he IS a field-bred golden after all) , this is a coat trait that is hereditable and can be passed to his off-spring*
